KANSAS CITY -- One of Mike Moustakas' two home runs in a 7-2 win over the White Sox on Saturday night gave the Royals the lead. The other put an exclamation point on the team's 29th come-from-behind win.
A day after he snapped a homerless drought that lasted 38 plate appearances, which was tied for his longest stretch without a home run this season, Moustakas hit his team-leading 27th and 28th home runs.
"He's definitely locked in," Royals manager Ned Yost said.
After Salvador Perez hit a tying two-run home run in the sixth inning off White Sox left-hander David Holmberg, Moustakas hit a go-ahead shot for No. 27. It came on an 0-1 curveball, a pitch he was looking for as the Royals went on to score five runs in the frame.
"I was trying to sit on an offspeed pitch," Moustakas said. "Looking at the reports, I had a pretty good idea he was going to throw one right there."
The Royals extended their lead with a home run by Brandon Moss later in the inning and a home run by Jorge Bonifacio in the seventh. Moustakas belted No. 28 in the eighth for the Royals' fifth home run of the night.

Facing White Sox right-hander Brad Goldberg, Moustakas extended on a 96-mph fastball. The homer traveled a projected 402 feet, according to Statcast™, to right field for a five-run lead. The home run put Moustakas on pace to hit 47 this season, which would break the club's single-season home run record held by Steve Balboni (36 in 1985).
"It's unbelievable," Perez said of Moustakas' season.
Moustakas said he wasn't aware of the homerless streak he ended in Friday's win
"I'm more focused on winning baseball games," Moustakas said. "It definitely feels good to hit some homers though, especially when they put us in the lead."
