Moustakas sits out vs. Twins to rest knee

Third baseman will be evaluated by team physicians in Kansas City

MINNEAPOLIS -- Third baseman Mike Moustakas (knee) did not start for the third straight game on Wednesday against the Twins.
Moustakas injured his knee in a collision with left fielder Alex Gordon last Sunday in Chicago as the two pursued a foul fly.
The Royals have called Moustakas' injury a contusion. Gordon went on the disabled list Monday with a fractured bone in his wrist.
Royals manager Ned Yost seemed resigned to not have Moustakas at all during the Twins series, waiting instead for a diagnosis from team physicians in Kansas City.
"The plan was that we'll get back to Kansas City and check him out there," Yost said. "He did say yesterday that he felt better. That's good.
"He took some swings yesterday and felt OK. He's had a little problem moving laterally, so we'll just see when we get back to Kansas City."
