Military Father Surprises Daughter at Rays Game

We’ve seen some truly amazing occurrences over the first month and a half of the season, but this one might take the cake.

The heartwarming moment took place in St. Petersburg Thursday evening when nine-year old Alayna Adams threw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the Rays-Red Sox game.

What she didn’t know was that the masked man catching her pitch was Army Lieutenant Colonel William T. Adams, her father, who returned home after a one-year deployment in Afghanistan.

Just watch her reaction after he pulls off the mask, and enjoy.

Something tells me it’s not the first pitch that she’ll remember about this night.
