Minor Leaguer Wik suspended 50 games

BOSTON -- Marc Wik, a Minor League outfielder who's on the roster at Class A Lancaster, was suspended for 50 games without pay for a second positive test for a drug of abuse, the Commissioner's Office announced Friday.
The suspension of Wik is effective immediately.
Wik, 23, was selected out of Chabot College by the Astros in the 21st round of the 2012 Draft. He was hitting .234 with no homers and seven RBIs in 23 games for the JetHawks. In 276 career Minor League games, he's hitting .254 with 15 homers and 100 RBIs.
Wik hit for the cycle last year at Lancaster.
