Two Minor League Players Suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Pittsburgh Pirates Minor League right-handed pitcher Delvin Hiciano has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for metabolites of Stanozolol. The suspension of Hiciano, who is currently on the roster of the Dominican Summer League Pirates, is effective immediately.

Arizona Diamondbacks Minor League right-handed pitcher Eric Smith has received a 50-game suspension without pay after a second violation for a drug of abuse. The suspension of Smith, who is currently on the roster of the Double-A Mobile BayBears of the Southern League, is effective immediately.
