Haniger raking in All-Star fashion for Mariners

ST. PETERSBURG -- With All-Star Game voting underway, Mariners right fielder Mitch Haniger continues making his quiet case for a spot on the American League squad.
The 27-year-old slugged his 13th home run of the season and had three RBIs in going 2-for-3 in a 5-4 win over the Rays on Thursday at Tropicana Field.

Haniger ranks third in the AL in RBIs with 46 and his 13 home runs are the most on a Mariners club that is off to a surprising lead in the AL West.
Haniger has been capably filling the No. 3 spot in the lineup since 's suspension. His 46 RBIs are just one shy of the career-high total he logged last year in 96 games as a rookie.
Haniger got a pair of RBIs on a second-inning single, then he ripped a leadoff homer in the fifth off to dead center, which traveled a projected 418 feet according to Statcast™.
