MLB and Clubs to observe September 11th anniversary with patriotic tributes in ballparks across the league

Major League Baseball and its Clubs will commemorate the 13th anniversary of September 11, 2001 with on-field tributes at Major League games. This remembrance is part of Baseball's ongoing and league-wide effort to honor those whose lives were lost and affected on that tragic day.

Home Clubs will mark the anniversary with pre-game ceremonies, including a moment of silence, and the "We Shall Not Forget" MLB silhouetted batter ribbon will be displayed throughout ballparks. In addition, special lineup cards and base jewels will be used for every game played on Thursday, September 11, 2014. On-field personnel, including players, coaches and umpires, will wear an American flag patch embroidered on the side of their caps.

On Thursday, September 11th, MLB Network will televise the "Nine Innings From Ground Zero" special developed by MLB Productions at 10:30 a.m. ET and feature coverage of the day's events across MLB in its studio programming. MLB.com will provide complete coverage of the day's ceremonies and perspectives through articles, multimedia and photos across the league. Additionally, MLB.com, the 30 Club sites, Cut4.com and all of the associated mobile and social media channels will distribute messages of remembrance and support of those who serve and protect our people, nation and freedom.

The Toronto Blue Jays will wear customizcustomized caps recognizing both the United States and Canada.
