Major League Baseball Commissioner Robert D. Manfred Jr. to attend Honda Home Opener

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS will return to Toronto for the Honda Home Opener on Monday, April 13th at 7:07 pm against the Tampa Bay Rays. The organization is honoured to announce that Major League Baseball Commissioner Robert D. Manfred Jr. will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to start our 2015 home schedule.

This will mark the first time in Blue Jays franchise history to have the Commissioner of Baseball open the season with a Ceremonial first pitch.   On August 14, 2014, Robert Manfred was elected as the 10th Commissioner in Major League Baseball history, succeeding Bud Selig on January 25, 2015.   Mr. Manfred worked 15 years as the Executive Vice President of Labour Relations for Major League Baseball prior to being named Chief Operating Officer on September 28, 2013.

Other details pertaining to the Honda Home Opener will be announced closer to April 13th.
