Cubs to face daunting AL East in 2017 schedule

Regular season to open April 3 against rival Cardinals in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS -- The Cubs released the tentative 2017 regular-season schedule on Wednesday, and they will open in St. Louis on April 3, play their first home game on April 10 against the Dodgers and entertain American League East teams in Interleague Play.
Chicago will begin the 2017 season on the road for the 12th time in the past 16 seasons and the first time in St. Louis since 1986.
Cubs' 2017 schedule
After three games against the Cardinals (April 3, 5-6), the Cubs travel to Milwaukee from April 7-9 before their home opener. This will be the first time they open at Wrigley against the Dodgers since 1963. The first homestand includes games against the Dodgers (April 10, 12-13), the Pirates (April 14-16) and the Brewers (April 17-19).
The Interleague schedule includes the AL East, plus the home-and-home series against the White Sox on July 24-25 at Wrigley Field, and July 26-27 at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The Cubs will play host to the Yankees (May 5-7), the Rays (July 4-5) and the Blue Jays (Aug. 18-20). Chicago also travels to Boston (April 28-30), Baltimore (July 14-16) and Tampa Bay (Sept. 19-20).
