Rumors are swirling around the Yankees in advance of the Aug. 1 non-waiver Trade Deadline, and it's looking increasingly likely that closer Aroldis Chapman will be on the move. The Cubs are in need of bullpen help, and the Yankees reportedly covet one of the Cubs' rising young stars in slugger Kyle Schwarber, according to a report Monday from Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports.
While it seems unlikely the Cubs would be willing to part with Schwarber for Champan or Yankees setup man Andrew Miller straight up, Passan wonders if Chicago would seriously consider a deal if both relievers were included.
Schwarber, 23, suffered a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee in April and is out for the season. In 69 games as a rookie in 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs and six doubles.
The Cubs are among the favorites to win the World Series, and a key bullpen piece could put them over the top. Meanwhile, the Yankees are hovering around .500 and could be buyers or sellers in the next two weeks. For now, the speculation around Schwarber is an interesting topic throughout baseball.

The Dodgers and Rays are reportedly engaged in trade discussions, sources tell MLB.com columnist Jon Paul Morosi, though it's not clear if Rays star third baseman Evan Longoria is involved at this time.
While the Dodgers have the resources to swing a trade for Longoria, it's more likely the trade discussions revolve around Tampa Bay's pitchers and utility man Logan Forsythe, Morosi writes.

Rangers willing to move Gallo?
The Rangers are another team reportedly engaged in trade discussions with the Rays. Texas is said to covet controllable pitchers and the Rays are thought to be looking for young hitting.
The Rangers could be willing to deal top prospect Joey Gallo, according to Yahoo! Sports, which could facilitate a potential trade with the Rays for starters Jake Odorizzi or Matt Moore.
Twins begin search for GM
The Twins are in the market for a new general manager and hope to have a successor for the outgoing Terry Ryan in place by the end of the regular season, reports MLB.com's Do-Hyoung Park. Ryan was relieved of his duties on Monday.
The Twins will consider both internal and external candidates, and the club could enlist a search firm to aid in their search. Interim GM Rob Antony will have full authority in the role through the end of the season. Antony has been with the organization since 1988 and is an internal candidate for the full-time position.
"This is a compressed situation because [Ryan] wanted to make the announcement now, but on the other hand, it does give us the luxury of beginning the process now before the season actually ends," said Twins owner and CEO Jim Pohlad.

Marlins interested in Hellickson
The Marlins are looking to upgrade their pitching staff through the trade market this week and the club has Phillies starter Jeremy Hellickson on its radar, tweets MLB.com's Joe Frisaro.
Hellickson is scheduled to start against the Marlins on Wednesday in Philadelphia. The right-hander is 6-7 with a 4.03 ERA in 19 starts this year. He can become a free agent after the season.

Indians the favorite to land Bruce?
The Reds are widely expected to deal Jay Bruce before the Trade Deadline, and the first-place Indians could be the favorite to land the veteran outfielder, according to Yahoo! Sports. The Orioles, Dodgers, Rangers, Giants, Rangers and Nationals have also reportedly expressed interest in Bruce.
Bruce, 29, is slashing .264/.317/.529 with 18 homers and 21 doubles in 87 games this year. He has a $13 million club option ($1 million buyout) for next season.
