DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers today announced that the game on Monday, October 3, vs. Cleveland at Comerica Park will begin at 1:10 p.m. Monday's game will only be played if necessary whereas it can impact postseason seedings.
As a result of a clarification that became effective for this season, MLB requires all 162 games to be played if a game impacts seeding/home-field advantage for the Postseason. If a game would have no impact on seeding/home-field advantage, then MLB would not require it to be played.
All paid tickets from the postponed game of Thursday, September 29, will be honored for the Monday game at Comerica Park. No ticket exchange is necessary. If the game is not made up or if fans are unable to attend the rescheduled game, they may exchange their unused tickets at any time for a future non-premium regular season game scheduled to be played within 12 months from today's date, excluding Opening Day.
