Morin targeted for Saturday return

ANAHEIM -- Injured Angels reliever Mike Morin will make a rehab appearance Thursday night for Class A Advanced Inland Empire, manager Mike Scioscia said.

Morin is expected to come off the 15-day disabled list on Saturday at Texas after recovering from a left foot laceration sustained while walking on a Florida beach. He last pitched on July 31 and has a 2.36 ERA this season.

Both infielder Grant Green (lumbar strain) and pitcher Joe Thatcher (left ankle sprain) will continue their treatment and recovery in Arizona when the Angels embark on a 10-game road trip.

Green has been able to work on his defense and hitting, but Scioscia said there was still no timetable for his return despite a lot of progress.

Thatcher, who was out of a walking boot last week, said he was aiming to return for the Oakland series at the end of the trip.
