First baseman William Myers is off to a faster start this season than his first month of 2016.   
After the first month of the season, Myers is hitting .310 with seven doubles, two triples and seven homers for 20 RBIs.   
He is tied for the National League lead in games played (27) and leads in at-bats (113). He is ranked sixth in hits (35), tied for 11^th in homers, 15^th in RBIs, 17^th in slugging percentage (.593) and 31^st in batting average.   
After the first month of the 2016 season, Myers was hitting .302 with five doubles, five homers and 13 RBIs with a .510 slugging percentage.   
Of course, Myers returns home Tuesday night coming off back-to-back, three-run homer games against the Giants in San Francisco. 
GAME NOTES: 
The Padres open an eight-game homestand Tuesday night with the first of three games against the Colorado Rockies at Petco Park. The Los Angeles Dodgers (three games) and Texas Rangers (two) follow the Rockies into Petco Park. 
There are a series of promotions this homestand, starting with Taco Tuesdays tonight and May 9 promoted by Cholula Hot Sauce.  
Friday is the Padres annual Cinco de Mayo party in the Park at the Park presented by Southwest Airlines. Friday is also First Responders Night along with a Kids Fire Helmet give-away, which are both presented by The Hartford Insurance.   
There will be post-game fireworks on Saturday night along with a Reuseable Bag give-away sponsored by the MLB Network.   
Sunday will be Military Appreciation Day plus a Little League Parade and KidsFest. Kids will be allowed to run the bases after the game.
-- SS Erick Aybar enters the homestand riding an eight-game hitting streak. He is 10-for-31 during the streak with a double, a homer, two RBIs and six runs scored. Aybar has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games to raise his batting average from .135 to .220.
-- RHP Carter Capps struck out two in a perfect inning of relief Sunday as he continued his rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso. He has a 16.20 earned run average in six rehab appearances with the Chihuahuas. Meantime, RHP Christian Bethancourt allowed two runs on a hit and a walk in 1 2/3 innings Monday night in his second outing for El Paso.
-- 2B Yangervis Solarte has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, going 16-for-41 (.390) with four doubles, five RBIs and six runs scored. He has also drawn five walks and twice been hit by pitches during the run for a .479 on-base percentage. He has raised his batting average from .224 to .283 over the last 11 games.
