Nationals place Hairston on DL, recall Moore

The Nationals placed outfielder Scott Hairston on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a left oblique strain and recalled first baseman/outfielder Tyler Moore from Triple-A Syracuse.

Moore, 27, has played with the Nationals in each of the past two seasons, hitting .241 with 14 home runs and 50 RBIs over 138 combined games. He hit .265 with six RBIs in 20 spring games and played in one game at Triple-A before being recalled.

Hairston, 33, appeared in two of Washington's first five games this season, going 1-for-2.
