Ramos on bereavement list; Nats recall Severino

April 26th, 2016

WASHINGTON -- The Nationals placed catcher Wilson Ramos on the bereavement list on Tuesday and recalled catcher Pedro Severino from Triple-A Syracuse.
Severino, 22, the Nationals' 10th-ranked prospect, is making his first Major League appearance of the season after hitting .244 in 13 games at Syracuse. He was previously with the Nationals in August 2015, going 1-for-4 while appearing in two games.
Severino said that between his callup last year and two years of Spring Training, he's already comfortable with his teammates.
"I know most of the guys here and have a good relationship," Severino said. "So I just feel normal."

Ramos has left the team following the death of his grandfather and will rejoin the team over the weekend in St. Louis. Manager Dusty Baker said he spoke to Ramos on Tuesday and the catcher was, "pretty shook up."
Jose Lobaton started in Ramos' place Monday night against the Phillies. Lobaton is 3-for-12 on the season with a triple and three RBIs.
