Nats open 2016 with division clash in Atlanta
Tentative schedule sets Interleague matchups against Baltimore, Kansas City
WASHINGTON -- With so much at stake every time the Nationals take the field, manager Matt Williams isn't looking ahead to next week, let alone next year. But as MLB released the tentative 2016 schedule on Tuesday, fans can now do it for him.
The Nats open their 2016 slate in Atlanta on April 4 with a pair of games before they head to the District to begin the home schedule on April 7 against the Marlins.

As was the case in 2015, the Nationals will be at home and play on both Independence Day and Labor Day. The Brewers will be in town in early July, and the Braves will be in Washington for the final time in the regular season on Sept. 5.
The annual Battle of the Beltways between the Orioles and Nats will take place in late August, a four-game home-and-home series starting in Baltimore (Aug. 22-23) and flips back to D.C. to start a five-game homestand that includes a visit from the Rockies (Aug. 26-28).
The Nationals' Interleague Play is highlighted by a three-game trip to Kansas City on May 2-4. That three-game set wraps up a road trip that will begin in St. Louis against the Cardinals on April 29.
Washington will finish its regular season at home on Oct. 2, the end of a six-game homestand hosting the D-backs and the Marlins beginning Sept. 26.
