Promotions and Special Events

Gold Glove Celebration:  On Friday, April 12 the A's will congratulate Josh Reddick for receiving the 2012 Rawlings Gold Glove Award® in a special pre-game celebration. Additionally, 10,000 fans will receive a foam gold glove and CSNCA Authentic cheer card, courtesy of Comcast SportsNet California. The Rawlings Gold Glove Award was established in 1957 to recognize the best fielders at each position and it has evolved into baseball's greatest measure of defensive excellence.

Earth Day: In recognition of Earth Day, observed globally April 22 to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment, the A's, Mendocino Redwood Company and Home Depot will give a redwood seedling to 10,000 fans upon exit from the game Saturday, April 13.

A's Promotions: This homestand also features a promotional giveaway of a 2012 American League West Champion fleece blanket, courtesy of Cache Creek Casino Resort to 10,000 fans on April 13. On April 14, the A's and Central Garden & Pet will host a Pet Adoption Day and 10,000 fans in attendance will receive an A's pet calendar, courtesy of Central Garden & Pet.

A's Pre-Game Radio Show Remote: The A's pre-game radio show, which is carried on 95.7 FM The GAME, will broadcast live on location from the Budweiser Bowtie Bar behind Section 129 of O.co Coliseum Tuesday, April 16. Fans are invited to join host Guy Haberman before the game at this new sports bar which features big screen televisions, plenty of seating and a large selection of ice cold Budweiser products.

Community Relations

Autism Speaks:  The A's and Major League Baseball have teamed up with Autism Speaks in a league-wide effort to raise funds and awareness during April, Autism Awareness Month. On April 13, Autism Speaks will receive all of the proceeds from the A's Silent Auction which takes place during the game behind Section 120 of O.co Coliseum. Two local families from Autism Speaks will be guests of the A's and receive a pre-game batting practice visit, tickets to the game and a goodie bag of A's goodies. During the game, fans can make a $10 donation to Autism Speaks by texting AUTISM to 25383.

Jackie Robinson Day:  MLB and the A's will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day Monday, April 15 to honor the legacy of the legendary Hall of Famer and, for the fifth consecutive year, all players and on-field personnel will wear No. 42. One No. 42 jersey from each Club will be signed and auctioned off on www.mlb.com, with the proceeds benefitting the Jackie Robinson Foundation. Prior to the game April 15, two local Jackie Robinson Foundation alumnus scholars, Lauren Booker a recent graduate of Harvard Business School and Zenzele Olatunji a freshman at Mills College, will throw out the ceremonial first pitches.

A's Home Run Reader Visit: An A's player will visit with approximately 180 students at the Kitayama Elementary in Union City on behalf of the A's Home Run Readers Program at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16. The player will congratulate students grades second through fifth who reached their reading goals, host a Q/A session, sign autographs for correct trivia answers and invite the students to the O.co Coliseum for Home Run Readers Day.

Ticket Specials

In-Game Seat Upgrades from a Mobile Device:  Beginning Friday, April 12 and continuing throughout the season, A's fans can upgrade their seats using the MLB.com At the Ballpark application available for iPhone and Android phones. Fans at O.co Coliseum are among the first four teams to have access to the technology, which gives them the opportunity to select and purchase a new seat location during the game. The new ticket will appear on the fan's mobile device which can then be presented to the usher in their new section. The MLB.com At the Ballpark app can be downloaded online at www.oaklandathletics.com/ballpark. Fans can also sign up for seat upgrade notifications at www.oaklandathletics.com/upgrade.
