No. 39 pick Joe among Bucs draftees to sign

Third-rounder Luplow and picks from Rounds 9, 25 and 30 come to terms

PITTSBURGH -- Outfielder Connor Joe, the 39th selection in the recently completed First-Year Player Draft, and third-round pick Jordan Luplow, also an outfielder, were among five Draft picks signed on Tuesday by the Pirates.

Also coming to terms were catcher Kevin Krause (ninth round), infielder Erik Forgione (25th) and outfielder David Andriese (30th).

All five players were assigned to Jamestown of the Short Season Class A New York-Penn League.

The signings brought under contract 30 of the Bucs' 42 selections in the Draft, including each of the top 12 and 23 of the top 24.

Luplow, the No. 100 overall pick, was valued at $524,300 and agreed for slightly below that at $500,000, MLB.com has confirmed. Terms for Joe were not known, but his slot bonus value was set at $1,457,600.
