LOS ANGELES -- Rockies third baseman pushed himself into the National League lead in home runs by hitting his 21st of the season -- a solo shot to dead center -- to give the team a 4-2 lead over the Dodgers in the fifth inning on Sunday, though the Rockies eventually lost, 6-4.
The homer, which traveled a projected 406 feet and came off the bat at 104 mph according to Statcast™, came against Dodgers starter .
The hit pushed him one ahead of the Nationals' , who was involved in an extra-inning game against the Phillies on Sunday afternoon.
It was the second home run of the series for Arenado, who went deep in Friday night's 3-1 victory. The Rockies were seeking a three-game series sweep. A win would put the Rockies -- who were leading the National League West on June 6 -- back at .500.
