The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have designated right-handed pitcher Michael Tonkin for release or assignment.
Tonkin appeared in nine games in relief for the Twins this season, going 0-1 with a 6.55 ERA (11.0 IP, 8 ER), 10 walks and 13 strikeouts.
The club will make a corresponding roster move prior to Sunday's game against Boston at Target Field.
