Royals in the Community

The Kansas City Royals will host the Baltimore Orioles (May 12-14) and New York Yankees (May 16-18). The Royals Charities Broadcast Auction, which was originally scheduled for May 3, will now take place on May 17. The Club will also join Major League Baseball in hosting Breast Cancer Awareness Day (May 14).

The Royals Charities Broadcast Auction, which was originally scheduled for May 3, will now take place on May 17. Friday, May 12 - Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
· Moose Lodge - Third baseman Mike Moustakas, together with the Royals and KCP&L, will host foster care children and their families in the Moose Lodge. Each child from KVC Kansas will receive complimentary tickets, a "Moose Lodge" t-shirt and a free meal courtesy of ARAMARK and Papa John's Pizza. The special guests will also participate in a meet-and-greet with Moustakas before the game.
Saturday, May 13 - Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 6:15 p.m.
· Kennedys Host Charity Groups - Pitcher Ian Kennedy and his wife, Allison, host a different community group in a Dugout Suite during each Saturday home game. On Saturday, the Kennedy's host Warriors' Ascent. Kennedy will meet the guests from Warriors' Ascent prior to the game and present them with a special Royals gift from their family.
Sunday, May 14 - Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m.
· The University of Kansas Health System Health Awareness Day - The Royals and The University of Kansas Health System are proud to partner to bring Women's Health Awareness Day to Kauffman Stadium. Fans can learn about different women's health problems and initiatives through interactive displays and distributed information. Honorees associated with the initiative will take part in the first pitch ceremony and the Buck O'Neil Legacy Seat program.
· Breast Cancer Awareness - The Royals will host Komen Kansas City to recognize breast cancer survivors, including the MLB Honorary Batgirl BrieAnne Epke from Wichita, Kan. She will join other survivors during a special pregame presentation. Both teams will join teams throughout Major League Baseball to wear special pink uniforms on both May 13 and 14, in honor of the initiative.  
· 50/50 Raffle presented by Edelman & Thompson - A portion of the proceeds from the Royals Charities fundraiser during the game will benefit Susan G. Komen of Greater Kansas City. The organization will also distribute information outside the Royals Charities headquarters. For more information, see www.royals.com/5050.

Tuesday, May 16 - New York Yankees vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
· Green Team - During select games throughout the season, local organizations and volunteers who sign up to be a part of the Royals Green Team, sponsored by Republic Services, will help collect aluminum and recyclable plastics at the stadium gates as well as throughout multiple innings of the game.
Wednesday, May 17 - New York Yankees vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
· Royals Charities Broadcast Auction - Royals Charities and FOX Sports Kansas City will partner for the eighth-annual Broadcast Auction. The event was postponed on May 3 due to weather. The special on-air auction will take place throughout the television broadcast when the Royals host the New York Yankees. Viewers will have the opportunity to bid on several unique ballpark experiences with players and purchase special ticket packages for just $49. The Broadcast Auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. during Royals Live and run until the last out of the 9th inning. For more information, visit www.royals.com/broadcastauction.
· Dream Factory - Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wishes of Dream Factory children. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, will meet Royals players, watch batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast.  
Thursday, May 18 - New York Yankees vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
· Hosmer hosts Big Brothers, Big Sisters - Eric Hosmer will host 30 participants from the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City program. The first baseman will meet the group in the stands during Royals batting practice. During pregame ceremonies, Royals Charities will also present a check to BBBSKC for $10,000.
