OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's optioned right-handed pitcher Frankie Montas to Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today.
Montas was on the A's Opening Day roster and went 1-1 with a 6.91 ERA and .308 opponents batting average in 21 relief appearances with Oakland. He allowed nine home runs, which tied for the most among Major League relievers, and issued 15 walks in 28.2 innings. Montas allowed 10 runs over his final four games (19.29 ERA) after a six-game, 8.1-inning scoreless streak.
