Oakland A's to dedicate Catfish Hunter Gate during upcoming homestand

The Oakland A's return home on Thursday, June 15 for an eight-game homestand against the New York Yankees and Houston Astros.

The Oakland A's return home on Thursday, June 15 for an eight-game homestand against the New York Yankees and Houston Astros. The homestand will feature a Karaoke-themed fireworks show, a pair of giveaways, and the dedication of Catfish Hunter Gate at C Gate at the Oakland Coliseum.
The team will dedicate Jim "Catfish" Hunter Gate at C Gate at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 17 before the A's play host to the Yankees. Members of Hunter's family, including his widow, Helen, their three children and their families, will be joined by many of Hunter's former teammates for the dedication ceremony, including Vida Blue, Bert Campaneris, Ray Fosse, Darold Knowles, John "Blue Moon" Odom, Joe Rudi, Gene Tenace and former A's radio broadcaster Monte Moore.

EARTHQUAKES/A's SCARFS: 10,000 fans will receive an Earthquakes/A's scarf, presented by Cache Creek Casino Resort. A's players will also wear special co-branded Earthquakes/A's batting practice jerseys. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game with proceeds benefiting Oakland Promise.
FIELD REFURBISHMENT PRESENTATION: The Oakland Athletics, The Scotts Company LLC (Scotts) and Major League Baseball will recognize the opening of a newly refurbished youth baseball field at Elmhurst Community Prep School in Oakland. The official ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly renovated field, which included Baseball Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson, Scotts, MLB and Oakland Cal Ripken Baseball League representatives, was followed by a baseball clinic for 50 youth baseball players from the Oakland Cal Ripken Baseball League yesterday. This project is part of the Scotts® Field Refurbishment Program, a partnership between Scotts, MLB and the Oakland Athletics to give back to kids and communities around the country by renovating youth baseball and softball fields.
A's COMMUNITY FUND 50/50 RAFFLE: At select home games throughout the 2017 season, fans can participate in the A's Community Fund 50/50 Raffle, presented by Better Health East Bay, a Sutter Health Foundation. CALL OF DUTY WWII: Before the game, both A's and Yankees players will have the opportunity to test out the not yet released Call of Duty WWII video game. The team will also host a special pregame check presentation of $10,000 to the Call of Duty endowment, which identifies and funds the most efficient and effective organizations that help get unemployed veterans back in the workforce.
KARAOKE FIREWORKS: Following the game, the team will host Karaoke Fireworks, presented by Ray Morgan Company. Fans can enjoy the show from the outfield grass (space permitting).

MARCUS SEMIEN ACTION FIGURE GIVEAWAY: 15,000 fans will receive a Marcus Semien Starting Lineup action figure, presented by Ashby Lumber & Humboldt Redwood Company.
VOGT TO HOST CATCH ON THE FIELD EXPERIENCE: Stephen Vogt will host supporters of the School of Imagination for a catch on the field experience before the game. Following catch, the fans will participate in a behind-the-scenes tour, watch BP from the field, and receive tickets to the game. The program is supported by Vogt's alma mater Azusa Pacific University.
TAKE THE FIELD WITH THE A's: The Take the Field with the A's program gives youth baseball and softball teams the chance to live out their Major League dreams. Members of local baseball leagues join Oakland A's players on the field during the National Anthem.

FATHER'S DAY CATCH ON THE FIELD: Following the game, all fans who purchased a special ticket will have the opportunity to play catch on the outfield grass.
RACE AROUND THE BASES: Race Around the Bases, presented by Sutter Health, invites children 14 years old and younger onto the field after most Sunday day games to run the bases. Each participant will receive an A's Fitness Sluggers cheer card as they leave the field.

LITTLE A's: Local youth and their chaperones from nonprofit organizations will have the opportunity to attend an A's game free of charge through the Little A's program. In addition to a game ticket, each child receives a Bank of America souvenir and child-admission pass to the Oakland Zoo. The Little A's program is presented by Bank of America and supported by the Oakland Zoo, Clorox, and Capitol Corridor.
