Red Sox select 30 players on final day of 2017 June Draft

The Boston Red Sox today concluded their participation in Major League Baseball's 2017 June Draft with 30 additional selections in rounds 11-40. Red Sox Vice President of Amateur Scouting Mike Rikard made the announcement.

BOSTON, MA-The Boston Red Sox today concluded their participation in Major League Baseball's 2017 June Draft with 30 additional selections in rounds 11-40. Red Sox Vice President of Amateur Scouting Mike Rikard made the announcement.
Over the three days of the draft, Boston selected 18 pitchers (13 right-handers, five left-handers), 10 outfielders, nine infielders, and three catchers. Of the 40 players drafted, 26 are from college, 13 are from high school, and one is from a home school.
