The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have added catcher Jonathan Lucroy to the 25-man roster and have optioned catcher Tony Wolters to Triple-A Albuquerque.

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have added catcher Jonathan Lucroy to the 25-man roster and have optioned catcher Tony Wolters to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Lucroy, 31, was acquired by the Rockies via trade with the Texas Rangers on Sunday in exchange for a player to be named later … will wear jersey #21 … batted .242 (68-for-281) with 27 runs, 15 doubles, four home runs, 27 RBI and 19 walks in 77 games with the Texas Rangers this season … over 929 Major League games with Milwaukee (2010-16) and Texas (2016-17), Lucroy is a career .280 hitter (916-for-3,271) with 392 runs, 179 doubles, 19 triples, 94 home runs, 445 RBI and 283 walks … he is a two-time All-Star (2014, 2016) who has played in the postseason twice, in 2011 with Milwaukee and 2016 with Texas.
Wolters, 25, has appeared in 67 games for the Rockies this season, including 58 starts at catcher, and is batting .248 (50-for-202) with 30 runs, eight doubles, one triple, 14 RBI and 28 walks … since making his Major League debut with the Rockies on April 5, 2016, has batted .253 (103-for-407) with 57 runs, 23 doubles, three triples, three home runs, 44 RBI, 49 walks and four stolen bases in 138 career games … was claimed off of waivers by Colorado from Cleveland on Feb. 18, 2016.
