Jiménez, Peter and López named White Sox Minor League players of month

Class A Winston-Salem outfielder Eloy Jiménez and Class AAA Charlotte infielder Jake Peter have been named the Chicago White Sox Minor League co-Players of the Month for July, while Charlotte right-hander Reynaldo López has been named Pitcher of the Month as voted by a panel of Chicago-area media members.

Class A Winston-Salem outfielder Eloy Jiménez and Class AAA Charlotte infielder Jake Peter have been named the Chicago White Sox Minor League co-Players of the Month for July, while Charlotte right-hander Reynaldo López has been named Pitcher of the Month as voted by a panel of Chicago-area media members.
Jiménez, 20, batted .356 (21-59) with seven doubles, four home runs, 14 RBI, 10 runs scored, a .415 on-base percentage and .678 slugging percentage over 17 games in July with the Dash after being acquired by the White Sox with right-hander Dylan Cease and first baseman Matt Rose from the Cubs in exchange for left-hander José Quintana on July 13. He collected a career-high five hits with two doubles, one homer, three RBI and two runs scored on July 23 vs. Salem.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Jiménez, who is currently rated by MLB.com as the No. 7 prospect in baseball, is hitting .294 (64-218) with 13 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 33 runs scored, a .366 on-base percentage and .537 slugging percentage over 60 games between Winston-Salem and Class A Myrtle Beach this season. Jiménez was named to the 2017 Carolina League Midseason All-Star team.
Peter, 24, batted .364 (39-107) with five doubles, one triple, four home runs, 13 RBI, 21 runs scored, a .424 on-base percentage and .542 slugging percentage over 27 games between Charlotte and Class AA Birmingham in July. He hit safely in 18 straight games from July 8-28, going 28-73 (.384) during the streak.
The 6-foot, 200-pound Peter is hitting .284 (94-331) with 16 doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 31 RBI, 44 runs scored, .347 on-base percentage and .411 slugging percentage over 86 games between the Knights and Barons this season, his fourth in the Sox organization after being selected in the seventh round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft.
López, 23, went 0-1 with a 2.10 ERA (7 ER/30.0 IP), 38 strikeouts and a .183 (20-109) opponents average over five starts in July for Charlotte. He recorded double-digit strikeouts on July 16 vs. Gwinnett (12) and July 26 vs. Columbus (10).
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound López, who is rated by MLB.com as the No. 59 prospect in baseball, has gone 6-6 with a 3.65 ERA (47 ER/116.0 IP), 122 strikeouts and a .220 (97-441) opponents average over 21 starts this season, his first in the Sox organization. He ranks among the International League leaders in starts (T1st), strikeouts (3rd), strikeout per 9.0 IP ratio (3rd, 9.5), opponents average (3rd, .220) and IP (5th). López was acquired by Chicago with right-handed pitchers Lucas Giolito and Dane Dunning from Washington in exchange for outfielder Adam Eaton on December 7, 2016.
