The Oakland A's will return home Monday, Sept. 4, for a seven-game homestand against the Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros. The A's and Astros will play a straight doubleheader on Saturday, Sept. 9 to make up for the April 16 game that was postponed due to rain. The second game of the doubleheader will begin approximately 45 minutes after the first game ends.
During the Astros series (Sept. 8-10), the A's will help raise funds for hurricane relief efforts in Houston. One dollar from every ticket purchased for this series, including previously purchased tickets, will be donated to the American Red Cross. Fans who purchase tickets online will also have the option to donate $10 to relief efforts. Additionally, all proceeds from the 50/50 raffles taking place during the series will be donated to relief efforts in Houston. A's second baseman Jed Lowrie and his wife, Milessa, have also launched a fundraiser for hurricane relief and are challenging A's fans to make a donation at YouCaring.com/lowrie. The Lowrie family has committed to matching the $25,000 goal.
The A's will also host the 19^th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day, presented by Sutter Health, during the homestand on Sunday, Sept. 10.
