The Houston Astros return home on Friday for the final regular season home games of the 2017 season. With their magic number down to seven, the Astros will seek to clinch their first division title since 2001 as they take on the Seattle Mariners (Sept. 15-17), Chicago White Sox (Sept. 19-21) and LA Angels of Anaheim (Sept. 22-24). As of today, the Astros lead the AL West Division by 13.0 games and are within 1.5 games of the Cleveland Indians for the best overall record in the American League.
The thoughts and prayers of the Astros organization remain with the City of Houston and the many victims impacted by Hurricane Harvey. The Astros and Houston Area Chevy Dealers will honor those who have served and are currently serving our country during Military and First Responders Appreciation Night on Friday, Sept. 15. During a special pregame ceremony, families of first responders and military members will present giant U.S. and Texas flags on the field. Military members and first responders will line the base paths with Astros and Angels players for the National Anthem, and Melissa Salvidar Hamilton of the Houston Police Department will perform a special rendition of God Bless America in the 7th inning in honor of Chevy Military and First Responders Appreciation Night. A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by U.S. Army Specialist Matthew Connally, who served on the Counter I.E.D. Team in Afghanistan. Eight months into Specialist Connally's tour, his vehicle was struck by an I.E.D., causing him to medically retire from the U.S. Army. For his service, Specialist Connally received a Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two Campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge. Additionally, 500 tickets to Friday's game were donated by Houston Area Chevy Dealers to active-duty U.S. military members.
The Astros Foundation will be raffling off a brand new mPact XTV 750 S, donated by Houston Area Texas Mahindra Dealers, with proceeds benefitting the Astros Foundation. Tickets will be sold at every remaining Astros home game through the end of the season. Fans can purchase raffle tickets on the main concourse behind the escalators near section 107. Tickets are one (1) for $20 or six (6) for $100. The winner will be announced at the annual Diamond Dreams Gala at Minute Maid Park on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 (winner need not be present to win).

Astros Foundation volunteers will join Astros players' wives and families to help collect school supplies at all entrance gates for children affected by Hurricane Harvey, starting on Tuesday, Sept. 19 and continuing through the rest of the homestand (Sept. 24). Supplies needed include backpacks, book covers, construction paper, erasers, glue (bottle or stick), graph paper, highlighters, index cards, manila paper, No. 2 pencils, notebook paper (wide or college), pencil cases, pens (black, blue, red), pocket folders, rulers, scissors, sharpeners, spiral composition books (wide or college rule), spiral notebooks, three-ring binders, USB flash drives and washable markers.
September is also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and the Astros will be recognizing several childhood cancer support organizations over the course of the three-game series vs. the Chicago White Sox. Children from these organizations will be invited to participate in various in-game features, including the Kids First Call, a ceremonial first pitch, a pregame ceremony and the in-game Chevy Base Stealer feature.
