Nunez out due to right hamstring issue

DETROIT -- While the Twins announced a pair of roster moves on Sunday, placing Trevor Plouffe on the disabled list and recalling Pedro Florimon, another one might be on the way.

Eduardo Nunez, who aggravated his right hamstring during Saturday's loss in Detroit, was held out of the lineup on Sunday. Before the game, he was scheduled to undergo some agility tests to determine the best course of action for his recovery.

Twins assistant general manager Rob Antony didn't rule out a disabled-list stint for Nunez, and manager Ron Gardenhire said it might be the type of injury that takes a week or two to recover from.

But the hope is that Nunez will be good to go in the next day or two.

"He's probably not available [Sunday], but we don't think it's going to be too long," Antony said before the game. "We'll re-evaluate [on Monday]."

Nunez entered Saturday's game as a replacement for Plouffe after Plouffe was injured. Then, in the eighth inning, Nunez hurt the hamstring while beating out an infield single.
