As a thank you to Oakland A's fans, the team will remove the tarps and sell upper level seats for $15 a ticket for home games starting this Friday, April 14 versus the Houston Astros. View Level tickets for the upcoming 10-game homestand are on-sale now. Additionally, during the 10-game homestand, the A's will donate 50 percent of all View Level ticket purchases to Oakland Promise, a cradle - career initiative which aims to triple the number of college graduates from Oakland within the next decade.
"The best fans in baseball deserve the opportunity to experience the whole stadium so we have decided to take off the tarps on the upper deck," said A's President Dave Kaval. "To support our community, we will donate half of all upper deck ticket proceeds from this homestand to Oakland Promise."
The A's will open 12,103 additional seats per game in the View Level (sections 300-315 and 319-334), bringing the capacity of the Oakland Coliseum to 47,170. The tarps will remain in the sections known as "Mt. Davis." In addition to the $15 View Level tickets available for the upcoming homestand, the team will continue to sell Value Deck seating (third level, directly behind home plate in sections 316 - 318) which are dynamically-priced and include a food and merchandise credit. At the conclusion of the upcoming homestand more information will be released regarding the sale of future game tickets in the View Level.
"On Opening Night we had an attendance of 36,067, with 1,000 of those tickets as standing room only," said Kaval. "We heard from fans that wanted us to open up additional seats including the upper deck. We want them to know we are listening to them and responding. While we are only opening tickets to the upper deck for this homestand at this time, these tickets will be available for all games moving forward."
The vision of Oakland Promise is to ensure as a community every child in Oakland graduates high school with the expectations, resources, and skills to complete college and be successful in a career of his or her choice.
The $15 View Level ticket is a fixed price for this upcoming homestand, April 14 - 23. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit athletics.com, call 1-877-493-BALL (2255), or visit the Oakland Coliseum Gate D Box Office.
