SEATTLE -- Pedro Alvarez will leave the team on Sunday night and be placed on the three-day bereavement list, causing him to miss the entire Dodgers series.
Alvarez, who had a death in the family, will travel back to the Dominican Republic following the Orioles-Mariners finale in Seattle. He is expected back for Friday's home game against the Angels, though manager Buck Showalter wasn't sure when Alvarez would fly back. The O's have an off-day on Thursday.
Baltimore could add a player while Alvarez is gone. The move could be one of several more coming as reliever Mychal Givens is set to leave for paternity any day now.
