Orioles claim infielder Adams off waivers from Indians

Left-handed pitcher De La Cruz designated for assignment

The Orioles claimed infielder David Adams off waivers from the Indians on Saturday night. To make room for him on the 40-man roster, left-hander Kelvin De La Cruz was designated for assignment.

Appearing in 43 games for the Yankees in 2013, Adams hit .192 with two home runs and 13 RBIs.

In 38 starts for the Yankees, the 27-year-old was penciled in at third base for 29. In those games, he had a .985 fielding percentage.
