O'Day taking encouraging steps after injury

McFarland has been throwing on flat ground; prospect Lee to rest

ST. PETERSBURG -- will throw a bullpen session on Saturday, and if all goes well, the Orioles' setup man will have cleared a major hurdle in his return from a right hamstring injury.
O'Day was encouraged on Friday, calling his bullpen on Thursday the best one he's had yet in his rehab. Should things go well on Saturday, the team could plan out a better map for his return, which could include simulated or rehab games.
Lefty -- on the disabled list with a left knee injury -- was in the O's clubhouse prior to their Friday night game against the Rays and has been throwing on flat ground.
Orioles No. 7 prospect , sidelined with a left shoulder injury, had started to throw again but was shut down. Manager Buck Showalter said the team believe it's not a structural issue with Lee, just that it didn't recover quick enough during the rest period, and he'll rest again now.
