MINNEAPOLIS -- Adam Jones, Chris Davis and Mark Trumbo combined for 10 hits, four homers, nine RBIs and seven runs to help lead the Orioles to a 9-2 win over the Twins in the series finale on Wednesday afternoon at Target Field.
Davis fell a triple short of the cycle and had four hits and four RBIs, while Trumbo hit two homers with three RBIs. The two hit back-to-back homers off Twins right-hander Phil Hughes in the fourth, marking the third straight game Baltimore hit consecutive homers -- a franchise record. Jones collected four hits, including a two-run blast off reliever Brandon Kintzler in the ninth.

"We obviously have a lot of power in our lineup," Davis said of an Orioles club that has hit 12 homers in three games. "I think guys have really had good at-bats, especially these last couple days. Not just going up there and hacking, [but] looking for a pitch and driving. And we haven't been missing them. I don't know if it's a thing [hitting back-to-back homers], but it's definitely nice to see."

Hughes struggled for the Twins, lasting four innings while allowing five runs on six hits, including three homers. He's now allowed seven homers in seven starts after giving up 29 in 27 outings last year.
"It's been a miserable three starts for me," said Hughes, who dropped to 1-6 with a 6.44 ERA. "I was missing over the plate a lot and losing my identity as a pitcher a little bit. I take a lot of pride in being aggressive and attacking the zone, but I feel like I've been tentative and not attacking with my best stuff."

Right-hander Tyler Wilson turned in a strong outing to pick up the win for the Orioles, surrendering two runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings. He gave up a solo shot to Miguel Sano in the second and an RBI single to Danny Santana in the fifth.

Trumbo, who has a team-leading 11 homers, has had three multi-homer games this year, while Davis, who scored on Trumbo's first homer, collected his ninth blast.
Birthday boy goes deep: Sano, celebrating his 23rd birthday, hit a solo shot off Wilson to left-center field in the second inning. The ball left the bat at 104 mph and landed a projected 410 feet away from home plate, per Statcast™. It was the first homer for Sano since April 22, and his first at Target Field since April 18.

Wilson strong: The rookie, inserted into the rotation due to Yovani Gallardo's injury, continued to pitch well, turning in his second quality start. It marked the fourth time in the last eight games the O's have had a starter go at least seven innings as the rotation has taken a positive turn.

"I just wanted to go out there and challenge contact," Wilson said. "Given the situation, I didn't have my best command in general today, and I really wanted to make sure I didn't fall behind guys. I wanted to give our team a chance to make plays behind me, which they did all day, like they always do, and get back in the dugout out of the rain."
Dean makes debut: Left-hander Pat Dean, who was called up from Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, made his Major League debut for the Twins, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over 2 2/3 innings. He also struck out three, but exited with two outs in the seventh after an RBI groundout by Davis. More >

The Twins went 7-0 against Baltimore last year, but the Orioles are returning the favor this season, as they're 5-0 against Minnesota. The two clubs still have Monday's makeup game scheduled for July 28 at Target Field.
REPLAY REVIEW
The umpires reviewed Davis' RBI double in the sixth inning to see if it cleared the left-field fence for a home run. But the call on the field stood, and Davis remained at second base.
