BALTIMORE -- The Orioles completed a four-game sweep by overcoming the Rangers' four-run lead and rallying for a 9-7 victory on Thursday night at Camden Yards. The Orioles hit four home runs, including three off losing pitcher Cole Hamels.
The Rangers led, 5-1, going into the bottom of the fifth before the Orioles struck for three runs in that inning on home runs by Adam Jones and Mark Trumbo, and four more in the sixth to take the lead.
"Yeah, we pass the baton," Jonathan Schoop said. "If I don't do it, if they don't give me a good pitch, then trust the guy behind me and let him do it. That's what we've been doing, and things are going our way. We're hitting the ball hard and finding the holes."
Hamels entered the game with a 21-inning scoreless streak and had not suffered a loss in his previous nine starts this season. He added three scoreless innings -- 24 consecutive is now the longest in the American League -- before Schoop brought it to an end with a home run with one out in the fourth.
"I have a job to do, and tonight I didn't do it," Hamels said. "It's very disappointing."
The Rangers have now lost five straight games and were outscored, 34-11, in the four-game series with the Orioles.
"When you put five runs on the board, you've got to find a way to play better baseball and limit the runs," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "We need to put down shutdown innings and let our offense keep playing."
Orioles starter Wade Miley went five innings, allowing five runs -- including Mike Napoli's three-run home run in the fifth, which gave the Rangers a 5-1 lead. He was picked up by four scoreless innings from the bullpen, with Miguel Castro pitching a scoreless sixth to earn his second Major League win.

"Outstanding," Miley said of the Baltimore bullpen. "Those guys have been doing it all year long. They've come in and cleaned up our messes from day one. It's huge to have a good bullpen down there, and hopefully we'll get going better and give them a break."

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Jones torches Rangers: Jones had multiple hits for the third straight night off Rangers pitching. He started the Orioles' comeback with a two-run home run off Hamels in the fifth that cut it to 5-3, and his RBI double drove in the go-ahead run in the four-run sixth inning.

Bottom three get to Hamels: Hamels gave up three home runs to hitters in the top four spots in the lineup, but it was the bottom of the Orioles' order that gave him fits. Welington Castillo, Ruben Tejada and Joey Rickard went a combined 6-for-8 with a walk off Hamels, and they had three consecutive one-out hits to get the four-run rally started in the sixth.
"There's that potential. Ruben very quietly has been doing well for us offensively. He's been a tough out for them. We talk a lot of times about trying to create that lineup that guys have to grind all the way through," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "Welington's got a track record of hitting. He's been struggling a little bit since coming off the disabled list, but he's been swinging it pretty well. And then Joey had probably as big of hits as we had. Got some things going."

BELTRE TIES RICE
Adrian Beltre had two hits, giving him 2,985 for his career and tying him with Hall of Famer Sam Rice for 31st all-time. There is nobody between Beltre and Roberto Clemente, whose career came to a premature end with 3,000 hits.

WHAT'S NEXT
Rangers: Right-hander Yu Darvish pitches against the Rays at 6:10 p.m. CT on Friday at Tropicana Field. Darvish is winless in his last six starts and 1-6 with a 4.09 ERA in his last 10 outings. This is the first of three games for the Rangers against a team they are chasing in the American League Wild Card race.
Orioles: Right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez opens a three-game series against the Astros at 7:10 p.m. ET on Friday at Camden Yards. Jimenez is 3-3 with a 7.55 ERA in six starts since being brought back out of the bullpen.
