BALTIMORE -- The Orioles recalled right-hander Mike Wright from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday and optioned right-hander Logan Verrett to Norfolk.
Verrett, 26, has made three appearances for the Orioles this season, including three innings in relief in Tuesday's 8-3 loss against the Yankees, in which the righty allowed three runs on five hits, including one home run. Verrett has compiled a record of 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA.
According to Orioles manager Buck Showalter, Verrett will be unavailable to pitch until Friday, so the righty plans to stop back home in Waco, Texas, to visit his wife, who just gave birth to their child, before rejoining the Norfolk Tides at the end of the week.
"Logan's not going to be able to pitch for a couple days, so, you know, he has a newborn," Showalter said. "It's a good idea, too. I talked to him about going back to Waco and checking on his wife and newborn. That's kind of one good thing about it that he's able to do that."
The 27-year-old Wright has appeared in 30 games for the Orioles since 2015, including 21 starts, but has not seen any action yet for the big club this year. The righty had a 3-4 record with a 5.79 ERA over 74 2/3 innings in '16.

With Norfolk, Wright (3-4) has started 10 games this season, compiling a 4.19 ERA in his 53 2/3 innings.
"Michael was our best option in a lot of ways," Showalter said. "One, he was getting ready to start, so he can provide some length if the opposing team would cooperate; you know how that goes."

• Orioles Minor League infielder Robert Andino, 33, has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Amphetamine, a stimulant in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Andino received an invite to Spring Training in February and has hit .234 with 23 RBIs for Norfolk this season. The infielder has had stints in the Majors since 2005, compiling a .233 average. The suspension is effective immediately.
• Minor League outfielder Johnny Dixon, 20, has received a 72-game suspension without pay after testing positive for metabolites of Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the program. Dixon is currently on the roster of the rookie-level Dominican Summer League Orioles, and has played there since 2015. In his two years in the Minors, Dixon has posted a .248 batting average with 69 RBIs and eight home runs. His suspension will be effective at the start of the 2017 DSL season.
