Orioles make four roster moves

The Orioles today announced that they have signed RHP TOMMY HUNTER to a Major League contract, recalled RHP OLIVER DRAKE from Triple-A Norfolk, and designated LHP T.J. McFARLAND and OF JULIO BORBÓN for assignment.

The Orioles today announced that they have signed RHP TOMMY HUNTER to a Major League contract, recalled RHP OLIVER DRAKE from Triple-A Norfolk, and designated LHP T.J. McFARLAND and OF JULIO BORBÓN for assignment.
 
Hunter, 30, went 2-2 with a 3.74 ERA (9 ER/21.2 IP) over 21 games with the Cleveland Indians this season. In parts of five seasons with the Orioles from 2011-15, Hunter went 21-20 with a 4.22 ERA (185 ER/394.2 IP) and 257 strikeouts. Over 305 career Major League games, he has gone 48-35 with a 4.29 ERA (333 ER/698.1 IP). Hunter will wear No. 41.
 
Drake, 29, pitched to a 2.72 ERA (17 ER/56.1 IP) with 10 saves and 79 strikeouts in 47 games with the Tides this season. He was named International League Pitcher of the Week from June 13-19, when he collected four saves while tossing 4.0 scoreless innings and striking out 10 batters. Drake was recently named Best Reliever in the International League by Baseball America. He pitched in four games for the Orioles earlier this season. In 17 career Major League games, Drake owns a 4.64 ERA (11 ER/21.1 IP).
 
McFarland, 27, pitched to a 6.93 ERA (19 ER/24.2 IP) in 16 games with the Orioles this season.
 
Borbón, 30, batted .308/.308/.308 (4-for-13) with a run scored in six games with the Orioles in 2016.
