Orioles option reliever Brach to Triple-A

FORT MYERS Fla. -- The Orioles optioned right-handed reliever Brad Brach to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday night, putting their Spring Training roster at 40, including six non-roster players.

Brach, 27, had an impressive spring. He allowed two runs over 8 1/3 innings, striking out eight and allowing six hits and a walk over that span. Brach pitched a scoreless inning on Tuesday afternoon.

The Orioles acquired Brach from the San Diego Padres in November, in exchange for right-handed pitcher Devin Jones, after Brach was designated for assignment.
