Z. Britton fine after being struck on right wrist
SARASOTA, Fla. -- Orioles pitcher Zach Britton said he's fine after being hit in the right wrist by Minnesota's Josh Willingham during Wednesday night's 11-5 win.
"It's nothing," said Britton, who had about 30 seconds of anxiety when he lost feeling in his glove hand, but it went away.
The left-hander didn't have a bruise on Thursday morning and there were no X-rays taken on the area.
Britton threw two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out two, in his second spring game. The 25-year-old is competing for a rotation spot and has allowed one run over four innings.
His older brother, Buck, also in camp, forgot his jersey and there was a lot of confusion as to who No. 90 was. Britton joked that it got more attention than his performance on the mound.
