Orioles reinstate Betemit from 15-day DL; recall Avery, Exposito and Tolleson

The Orioles today announced that they have reinstated INF WILSON BETEMIT from the 15-day disabled list and recalled OF XAVIER AVERY, CA LUIS EXPOSITO and INF STEVE TOLLESON from Triple-A Norfolk.

Betemit had been on the DL since August 12 with a right wrist injury.  He has batted .264/.327/.429 with 12 home runs and 37 RBI in 97 games for the Orioles this season, including a .306/.363/.510 line in 245 at-bats against right-handed pitching.  He went 2-for-8 with a grand slam in two rehab games with Double-A Bowie.

Avery batted .233/.317/.356 in 24 games over three stints with Baltimore earlier this season.  He hit .236/.330/.356 with 57 runs, eight home runs and 57 RBI in 102 games with Triple-A Norfolk.

Exposito hit .059 (1-17) in eight games with the Orioles earlier this season (May 4-25).  He hit .268/.326/.420 with 26 runs and 23 RBI in 55 games with Triple-A Norfolk.

Tolleson batted .194/.242/.339 with two home runs and six RBI in 23 games for the Orioles in three stints this season.  He hit .278/.358/.346 with 21 RBI in 50 games with Triple-A Norfolk.

Exposito will switch to uniform number 59. Avery will wear #70 and Tolleson #6.
