SARASOTA, Fla. -- The Orioles aren't done adding just yet.
On the heels of unveiling Chris Tillman on a one-year contract, executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette told the gathered media scrum at Ed Smith Stadium that Baltimore will continue to scour the free-agent market.

"Yeah, there's some other areas on the club that we need to continue to try to address," said Duquette, who agreed when asked if adding a left-handed hitter is now the top priority.
"We continue to look for left-handed hitting. We're going to need some more depth in our infield, especially our middle infield. I do like the depth of our outfield. I think we probably have as much depth there as any of our other positions. And our pitching staff, we have to come up with some solutions to our pitching staff so that we can pitch competitively this year."

The Orioles designated outfielder Jaycob Brugman to make a roster spot for Tillman, an interesting move and perhaps one that signifies they're on the cusp of another signing. Brugman was a left-handed hitter and their willingness to take him off the 40-man roster may be Duquette tipping his hand that another lefty bat could be in play.
The O's -- who would most likely have that lefty be an outfielder-- have been connected to Corey Dickerson and Colby Rasmus in recent days.
With Tillman, the Orioles have all four of their starters as right-handers. While they'd like to add a left-hander, the only guy on the free-agent market with significant Major League experience is Francisco Liriano.
"We could use a left-handed starter, so we're going to look at [Rule 5 Draft pick Nestor] Cortes to see if he's an option. We like a lot of things that we've seen about him," Duquette said. "Some of the other guys in camp, we'll take a look at them too. But the arms are pretty good. If we come up with another pitcher out of the other arms that we invited into camp, that would be good."
