Orioles trucks head south for Spring Training

February 4th, 2016

BALTIMORE -- The Orioles inched a little closer to Spring Training on Thursday.
Hours before Baltimore's trade for pitcher Odrisamer Despaigne from San Diego became official, the team got ready to head south by packing up its trucks to send equipment to Sarasota, Fla.
The truck loading starting just after 10 a.m. ET and the caravan departed Camden Yards early in the afternoon. The destination is Ed Smith Stadium, and there are just two weeks until pitchers and catchers report. The pitchers and catchers' first workouts are Feb. 19, with the first full-squad workout on Feb. 24.
