ST. PETERSBURG -- Orioles catcher Chance Sisco moved up 49 spots to No. 50 on MLB Pipeline's Top 100 Prospects list in the midseason version released on Tuesday.
The ranking of baseball's top prospects is done by MLBPipeline.com Draft and prospect experts Jonathan Mayo, Jim Callis and Mike Rosenbaum, who compile input from industry sources, including scouts and scouting directors. It is based on analysis of players' skill sets, upsides, proximity to the Majors and potential immediate impact to their teams. Only players with rookie status are eligible for the list. Players who were at least 23 years old when they signed and played in leagues deemed to be professional (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Cuba) are not eligible.

Sisco is the O's lone representative in the Top 100, earning the club 51 "prospect points" based on his position on the list. That gives the Orioles the seventh-lowest organizational prospect point total in the Majors. With Sisco ranked 99th in the preseason, the Orioles had only two prospect points when the year started, fourth-lowest in MLB.
Sisco is slashing .284/.354/.395 at Triple-A Norfolk, with three home runs, 20 doubles and 36 RBIs in 73 games. The 22-year-old backstop has thrown out 20 percent of baserunners.
The Orioles drafted five players this year who immediately landed within the top half of the organization's Top 30 Prospects list. Left-hander DL Hall ranks the highest among their 2017 picks at No. 4. He signed for a $3 million bonus at the end of June.
Outfielders Austin Hays and Cedric Mullins made big climbs up the rankings in the months since they were first released.
Hays rose six spots up to the No. 2 position on the O's Top 30 Prospects list. The 21-year-old was promoted to Double-A Bowie this season and is hitting .319 with eight homers in 28 games at that level. Across Double-A and Class A Advanced ball, he has 24 home runs and 65 RBIs in 92 games, with a .325 average.
Mullins made the organization's biggest rise among prospects in the system at the beginning of the year, from No. 20 to No. 5. The 22-year-old is slashing .317/.354/.536 in 44 games at Bowie this year, though he's missed time due to hamstring injuries.
