Paredes leaves game with left wrist injury

March 3rd, 2016

SARASOTA, Fla.-- Orioles outfielder Jimmy Paredes exited Thursday's 10-3 loss in the second inning with a left wrist sprain and is slated for X-rays in Sarasota, Fla., on Thursday night.
"When he can't continue, he's a tough guy. That one concerned me a little bit," manager Buck Showalter said of Paredes, who suffered the catch diving for Logan Forsythe's double. "I hope we get good news, it bent back pretty good."

Paredes is competing for an outfield spot this spring and played winter ball to hone his defensive skills. He was replaced by Dariel Alvarez and will be re-evaluated on Friday.
"He's hurting a little bit. I'm not sure. Might be a sprain," Orioles starter Miguel Gonzalez, who exited with Paredes, said of the injury. "They're going to go get an MRI or an X-ray. It's sad to see a guy go down who's been a good part of our organization, and he's been doing great the last couple of years."
