O's recall Dickerson for second stint with club

BALTIMORE -- The Orioles announced Friday that they selected the contract of outfielder Chris Dickerson from Triple-A Norfolk in another September move. They needed to make room for Dickerson on the 40-man roster, and to do so, they designated infielder Alex Liddi for assignment.

Dickerson played with the Orioles earlier this season, batting .245 in 46 games. The 31-year-old also provided good outfield defense thanks to his speed and glove work.

Liddi had a .222 average in 49 games with Norfolk since the Orioles acquired him from Seattle about two months ago.
