Panda back in lineup; Pagan still on hold

SAN FRANCISCO -- Pablo Sandoval returned to manager Bruce Bochy's lineup card Tuesday after missing the weekend series in St. Louis with a strained left foot.

Bochy said prior to the start of the series opener with the Blue Jays that he told Sandoval the Giants would scratch him from the lineup if the third baseman experienced any discomfort during warmups.

Outfielder Angel Pagan was omitted from the lineup for the ninth consecutive game with a left hamstring strain. Bochy said Pagan's pregame workout would determine whether he would be available off the bench during the game.

Tuesday marked the final day the Giants could place Pagan on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 26, the first day in which he missed action.

"If he can help out, if he can pinch-hit, that will contribute to the [DL] decision," Bochy said. "Angel will let us know if he's available off the bench. He's getting close."
