Rondon made his Major League debut vs. the Reds on Friday and made the first start of his big league career the following day, when he also recorded his first hit. Rondon wasn't expected to be a regular fixture during his first stint with the team but showed good range and athleticism in his brief time at the shortstop position.

(right hip contusion) is likely available for the Padres off the bench Monday, according to Padres manager Andy Green. The team is hoping that he will be back in the lineup for Tuesday's game. "[Dickerson] took swings the cage today, felt much better," Green said. "Obviously [he] hasn't been here very long, but he's made a heck of an impression. He's swinging the bat as well as anybody in the Major Leagues when he got hurt." Dickerson was injured on Friday against the Reds.
