PEORIA, Ariz. -- Non-roster infielder Adam Rosales returned to Padres camp Friday morning, two days after the birth of his son, Adrian Adam Rosales.
Rosales flew home earlier this week to his hometown of Cleveland to be with his wife, Callie, for the birth of their second child.

"It's an unbelievable experience," Rosales said. "We already have our daughter, Juliet, but to have our first son was unbelievable. And to be home with my wife and family was really special to me."
Rosales said it was hard to fly back to Arizona on Thursday.
"Yesterday was tough, leaving the hospital, leaving my family, knowing we have a new life to take care of … it was a tough flight home," he said.
Adrian Rosales tipped the scales at 8 pounds, 6 1/2 ounces and measured 20 inches in length.
"Everything went smoothly," Rosales said. "My wife is healthy. The baby is healthy. Everything went as planned."
Rosales wasn't in the starting lineup Friday against the White Sox, though he was available. Before flying back to Ohio earlier this week, he had been busy so far in camp -- starting games at third base, first base and shortstop.
Rosales, 32, who is trying to win a job on the bench this spring, is hitting .273 in 11 at-bats thus far, with two of his three hits going for doubles.
Rosales' chances of making the Opening Day 25-man roster are likely better after veteran infielder Skip Schumaker announced his retirement earlier this week.
Now that he's returned to Peoria, Rosales is eager to get back in games where he can continue to make a favorable impression on manager Andy Green and his staff.
"It has been a great Spring Training so far," Rosales said."The guys have been great. The staff has been great. I want to finish out Spring Training strong so I have a good, positive feeling, like you're ready to go into the season."
