Padres announce top three finalists for public address announcer

Three finalists will each announce one full game at Petco Park - #PadresPA

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced the Top 3 finalists in the search for the next Petco Park public address announcer. The group was narrowed down from 10 after each finalist announced half a game during the first half of this homestand (April 11-15). More than 800 people originally tried out to be the next Petco Park public address announcer. That group was narrowed down to 50 and then to 30, and finally to 10, with the help of a fan vote online and via social media.

The Top 3 includes two Southern California residents, Sam Chin and Todd Leitz, and one New Hampshire resident, Alex Miniak. Chin, a San Diego resident and UCSD graduate, is a marine biologist. Leitz, another UCSD graduate and Studio City resident, is currently a public information officer for MYSAFE: LA. He is a former news anchor and reporter. Miniak is a Sr. account executive with Gigunda Group, and also currently serves as the public address announcer for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

As their final tryout, each of the three finalists will announce a full game between today and Friday, April 18, as well part of the game Saturday, April 19. Petco Park's next public address announcer will be announced during Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants.
