The Padres two, full-season Class A affiliates scored impressive wins Saturday night.
Shortstop Javier Guerra was 2-for-4 with a run scored and a sacrifice-fly RBI and four Storm relievers worked 4 2/3 scoreless innings as Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore scored a 3-2 win at Rancho Cucamonga.
Catcher Austin Allen and first baseman Brad Zunica homered as Class A Fort Wayne defeated Lake County 9-5 as 5,844 braved 36-degree temperatures to view the home opener at Parkview Field.
Lake Elsinore is 2-1 to open the season. Fort Wayne's win was the TinCaps' first in three games.
Right-handed starter Martires Arisa allowed two runs on four hits and two hits with six strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings for Lake Elsinore.
Left-handed reliever Kyle McGrath allowed no hits and a walk while striking out three in 1 2/3 innings to get the win. Left-hander Jose Torres allowed a hit with a strikeout in 1 1/3 scoreless innings and right-hander Jimmy Brasoban got the save with two strikeouts in 1 2/3 perfect innings to close out the win.
Allen, the Padres fourth-round pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, was 3-for-4 with a double, a homer with two RBIs and two runs scored. The 22-year-old is 8-for-10 to start the season.
The 6-foot-6, 255-pound Zunica, the Padres 15th-round pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, was 2-for-2 with a homer and two walks with three RBIs. He is off to a .345 start.
Designated hitter River Stevens had a double in three at-bats with two stolen bases and two runs scored. Left fielder Rod Boykin was 1-for-4 with two steals and two runs scored.
Right-hander Brett Kennedy started the game for Fort Wayne and allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits with two strikeouts in three innings. Right-hander Elliot Ashbeck picked up the win, allowing one walk with two strikeouts in three otherwise perfect innings of relief.
Left-hander Jerry Keel allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits with three strikeouts in two innings. Keel was promoted from extended spring training earlier Saturday when right-hander Phil Maton was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Triple-A El Paso (1-1) -- The Chihuahuas were rained out at Reno. The game will be made up June 26 as part of a doubleheader.
Double-A San Antonio (1-2) -- Springfield 6, Missions 4 -- Right-handed starter Cesar Vargas allowed two runs on four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings and RHP Rafael De Paula allowed a hit and a walk with three strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings as the Missions took a 3-2 lead into the eighth. But LHP Brandon Alger allowed three runs on a hit and two walks in one-third of an inning to suffer the loss. RHP Adam Cimber gave up a run on three hits with a strikeout in 1 2/3 innings. 3B Gabriel Quintana had a homer in four at-bats and scored two runs. C Ryan Miller had a triple and run scored in four at-bats.
